DIY Natural Cleaning Products With Essential Oils

Do-It-Yourself natural cleaning products with essential oils are a great alternative to most store bought brands. Did you know that you can remove dirt from just about anything with two items you probably have in your home right now? They are good old-fashioned white vinegar and baking soda. When I found out just how toxic typical household cleansers I had in my home actually were, I made it a point to try to eliminate everything I could and just go natural. I heard about how people were making their own items with ingredients they had right there in their homes or bought from the supermarket or health food store. In the video below you will find four recipes that help to remove dirt and freshen up your home. These recipes are not only safe and smell good, but that are actually effective in getting your living environment spotless and tidy!


Supplies Needed

Pure Lavender Essential Oil by Aura Cacia

Pure Lemon Essential Oil by Aura Cacia

Borax
Liquid Castile Soap
White Distilled Vinegar
Baking Soda
Plastic Spray Bottles
1/2 Gallon Glass Jar
Jar Labels
Pyrex Measuring Cup
Measuring Spoons


Step by Step Instructions

(1) All-Purpose Spray Cleaner
In a plastic spray bottle add the following ingredients and shake up well:
>1 cup of water
>1/4 teaspoon Borax
>1/4 teaspoon Liquid Castile Soap
>1 teaspoon Lavender Essential Oil

(2) Window Cleaner
In a 16 oz. spray bottle add the following ingredients and shake up well:
>1 tablespoon White Distilled Vinegar
>1/2 teaspoon Lemon Essential Oil
>fill with water

(3) Fabric Softener
Mix the following ingredients together. Use 2-8 tablespoons to your rinse cycle as needed. Store in an air-tight container.
>1/2 cup Vinegar
>2 tablespoons Baking Soda (allow to dissolve completely)
>60 drops Lavender Essential Oil

(4) Freshner For Your Carpets
Stir up together the following ingredients. Sprinkle on carpets. Leave for about 10 minutes then vacuum up as usual. Store any remainder in an air-tight container.
>50 drop Lemon Essential Oil
> 1/2 cup baking soda
